Fred Feiser

OUTSTANDING ALUMNUS


New Oxford High School - The New Oxford Alumni Association announced at the Annual Membership Dinner May 10th, Fred Feiser as the Outstanding Alumnus for 2008. Feiser graduated from New Oxford High School in 1938, marking 2008 a 70th anniversary year for him. After graduating from high school he attended the Philadelphia Mortuary College for three years, graduating in 1941. That same year he married Dorothy Brown, with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Shortly after graduating from college he joined the Army Air Corp where he served for four years. While stationed in Boise, Idaho, he was assigned to medical surgery where he worked in the operating room.


Feiser's great grandfather, Billy Feiser, owned and operated a funeral home in Hanover, at one time, and Fred followed in his footsteps starting his own funeral home in New Oxford.

Feiser and his wife, Dorothy, were instrumental in helping to get the New Oxford Alumni Association started along with Blaine Wildasin. The trio worked diligently to obtain alumni addresses and organize the first banquet. For many years they manned the hospitality table for the affair.

Fred has been an active member of the New Oxford Lions Club, New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce Industrial Development Corporation and the Masonic Lodge. He has been a member of some of these organizations for sixty years.

The Feiser's, have two children, Clark Feiser and Rosina Novak. They also have five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
